Day 1

2010 March 27

82.9 kg

82.9 kg

Today I woke up excited and a little terrified. The scale frowned at me at 82.9 kg. I was prepared for breakfast today – I used my magic bullet and made a strawberry/bannana smoothie. Off to a great start.

I am not totally prepared for my day’s meal but last night I watched Jamie Oliver’s season debut of the “Food Revolution” followed by a late night talk show where his meal included a chopped salad with various items. His suggestion was to make it interesting by adding all the veggies that are in the fridge. For lunch and dinner: chopped salad with all the vegetables in the house.

Tomorrow I’ll be more prepared – off to Borders to buy a few cookbooks!

Look at my day 1 (side view) photo – I wish that I could say that I’m 6 months preggars or just had a baby. There is no excuse!!

What is Raw Food?

What does 365 Raw really mean?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Raw foodism (or rawism) is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of un-cooked, un-processed, and often organic foods as a large percentage of the diet. Raw foodists typically believe that the greater the percentage of raw food in the diet, the greater the health benefits. Raw foodism or a raw diet is usually equated with raw veganism in which only raw plant foods are eaten,[1] but other raw foodists emphasize raw meat and other raw animal products.[2] Depending on the type of lifestyle and results desired, raw food diets may include a selection of raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds (including sprouted whole grains such as gaba rice), eggs, fish (such as sashimi), meat (such as carpaccio), and non-pasteurized/non-homogenized dairy products (such as raw milk, raw milk cheese, and raw milk yogurt). Raw foodists can be divided between those that advocate raw vegetarianism or raw veganism, and those that advocate a raw omnivorous diet.

365 Raw for me – all raw vegetables, and fruits………. and the complete elimination of animal products. Hmmmm this is going to be hard. For the past 3 years due to a stressful work schedule – I’ve consumed more fast food than I have in the prior 10 years in total. Yes that’s correct – I’ve consumed more fast food in the past 3 years than I had in the prior decade before 2007-2010. How did this happen – Stress!!!!!

I feel like I’ve eaten McDonald’s and Chic-fil-A and I look like it as well.  Health Benefits!!!!  That’s my sole purpose for 365Raw. I choose Health!
